Marine sightseeing tours provide striking key points to traveling in Qingdao. To fully cater to varied needs of tourists, Qingdao Tourism Group has launched the classical tourism route around Zhanqiao Pier, a new marine tourism product which recently made its premier voyage.

This new route, which highlights the classic scenery of Qingdao, starts with the wharf of Qingdao Undersea World, encircles Qingdao Bay and passes via landmark tourist attractions such as Little Qingdao and Zhanqiao Pier. Tourists going to sea by ship can enjoy both Qingdao’s natural scenery featuring “red tiles, green trees, blue seas and azure skies” and modern cityscape from a new dimension, and embark on a journey of cultural exploration in a deep-going way. The route takes about 30 minutes.

Since the beginning of 2022, Qingdao has been concentrating its efforts to launch “Marine Sightseeing Tour” products and planning for 12 marine tourism routes. Eight routes have by far been launched including the route around Fushan Bay, the route from Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center to Laoshan Taiqing, the route from Olympic Sailing Center to Qingdao Undersea World and the one from Olympic Sailing Center to the Cruise Home Port. Among them, the route from Olympic Sailing Center to the Undersea World finds enormous favor with citizens and tourists.

In addition, a number of creative products dedicated to marine tourism based on the traveling routes have been developed including special routes on chasing after waves amid fluttering seagulls, concerts, Juzi Sea, watching the sunset and the sunrise. The newly launched marine bus line No. 1, a marine sightseeing cruise route around Qingdao, which is well received among tourists, connects fine views in Fushan Bay, Huiquan Bay and Qingdao Bay and creates a marine tourism network integrating mountains, seas, bays and cityscape.

Reportedly, more than 11,000 voyages for marine tourism in Qingdao have been so far made, in which over 1 million tourists were received.  (Ma Xiaoting)
