The promotional event for cross-border transport potential of SCO member states, co-sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in China and the Management Committee of the SCO Demonstration Area, was recently held in Qingdao, where the Cooperation Initiative for Co-building of a High-quality Cross-Caspian Sea International Transport Corridor was released.

The Initiative is co-launched by ten ports, terminals, parks or companies along the cross-Caspian Sea channel, among which Shandong Port Land-Sea International Logistics Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Hi-speed Qilu Eurasian Railway Logistics Co., Ltd., International Association for Trans-Caspian Sea International Transport Route and Aktau Port in Kazakhstan are included. The involved parties will explore ways to improve the transport efficiency of China-Europe Railway Express, accelerate the construction of an international land-sea trade channel and speed up customs clearance for goods in a bid to tap into the transport potential of the cross-Caspian Sea international transport corridor as well as the countries and regions along the route.
