According to data from Qingdao Municipal Transport Bureau, Qingdao’s Qilu China-Europe freight train has made 775 trips from January to October this year, the same number throughout last year, showing signs of vigorous momentum. Qingdao’s Qilu China-Europe freight train has by far opened 31 routes on a regular basis, providing access to 54 cities in 23 SCO member states and regions and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Since the Qilu China-Europe freight train was launched in October 2018, Qingdao’s Qilu China-Europe freight train has made a combined more than 2,900 trips. Up till now, there are up to 10 routes from the multimodal transport center in the SCO Demonstration Area (SCODA) to designated places, and 74 sea-rail combined freight train routes in Qingdao port, with the throughput of sea-rail combined transport soaring from 158,000 TEUs in 2013 to 1.9 million TEUs in 2022, topping China for eight successive years.
