The Shandong Provincial Three-Year Action Plan on Boosting Domestic Demand (2023-2025) was recently released. With new guiding policies on expanding domestic demand, Qingdao will undertake many tasks.

According to the Action Plan, in regard to shoring up traditional consumption, efforts will be made to host the Qingdao International Beer Festival on a continual basis and separate expos for import commodities from Japan, South Korea and the RCEP signatories; in regard to cultivating and bolstering new consumption hotspots, the plan calls for building up a batch of national medicine centers and national regional medical centers, and widening the applications of pilotless driving, unmanned distribution and aerospace information technology; in regard to continuing to boost consumption environment, the plan proposes the building of Jinan and Qingdao against international consumption center cities, the construction of Qingdao into a consumption center in northern Chin and an important international consumption destination; hosting international top events of sailing, racing, electronic sports and animation and assisting Qingdao in piloting the resumption of international cruise travel.  (Zhou Xiaofeng)
