On the morning of June 26, the inspection tour with the theme “New and Enormous Changes in Mountain Areas, Revisit the Central Red Traffic Line in Meizhou”, sponsored by the Committee of Cultural and Historical Data under the Guangdong provincial committee of the CPPCC alongside the Meizhou municipal committee of the CPPCC, was launched in Chelong Village, Xihe Town, Dabu County, Meizhou City. Jin Honghui, member of the Guangdong provincial committee of the CPPCC and full-time vice chairman of the Committee of Cultural and Historical Data, and Chen Yuanxing, vice chairman of the Meizhou municipal committee of the CPPCC, attended the event.

To pay tribute to revolutionary martyrs and bear in mind original aspirations, the Committee of Cultural and Historical Data under the Guangdong provincial committee of the CPPCC will organize the CPPCC committee members at the provincial, municipal and county levels to revisit the Central Red Traffic Line and the history of revolution and to experience enormous changes in mountain areas, in collaboration with the CPPCC committees of Shantou, Chaozhou and Meizhou which the Central Red Traffic Line spans. Participants in the event are instructed to bear in mind the original aspirations, fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and learn and carry out in a down-to-earth manner in practice Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.

Jin Honghui said in the speech that Dabu County in Meizhou is an important transit site on the last 50km of the Central Red Traffic Line before arrival at the Soviet Area. The inspection tour is designed to promote the conservation, revitalization and utilization of the section of the Central Red Traffic Line in Guangdong, unleash mental strength in the cultural revitalization drive and provide endogenous dynamics for the National Key Clinical Specialty Program and rural vitalization in Guangdong.

Chen Yuanxing hoped in his speech that the inspection delegation will continue to give attention and support to Meizhou, and give advice and suggestions and pass on their valuable experience on building Meizhou into a pilot zone for bay integration in Soviet areas, helping speed up revitalization and common prosperity in a higher level and a larger scope.

During the stay in Meizhou, the delegation will make field visits to Xihe Town, Chayang Town and Qingxi Town in Dabu County, follow the footprints of revolutionary martyrs to dig into historical events, revolutionary heroes, revolutionary spirits and relics along the Central Red Traffic Line, make revolutionary stories better heard and carry forward revolutionary tradition. Furthermore, delegation members are encouraged to make all sectors of society aware of new changes and achievements in the efforts to consolidate poverty alleviation feats and advance rural vitalization and embark on the new journey for a new era in higher spirits.  (Reporter Hong Guodong)
