[Fuzhou Evening News]The fifth China Outstanding Design Award of the Year held by the Shanghai Branch of the American Association of Architects has announced the final results recently, and the Youth Plaza, the heart of the Minjiang River punch card resort, won the winning prize. It is reported that this is the eighth important award that Youth Square has won in half a year.

The fifth China Outstanding Design Award of the Year, held by the Shanghai Branch of the American Association of Architects, aims to recognize innovative design in the fields of architecture, interior, and planning. It is one of the industry's prestigious international design awards. This time, a total of 4 awards were selected, including Honor Award, Excellence Award, Winner Award, and Finalist Award. 

The selection category of Youth Plaza is "Architecture of Adaptive Reuse Renovation Historic Preservation", which only generates two awards, the Winner Award and the Finalist Award. The Youth Square Urban Renewal Project is the only winning project in this category.

Since September 16, last year, the Minjiang Heart Youth Plaza Urban Renewal Project has successively won the gold medal of the 2022 Global Future Design Award, the gold medal of the 2022 World Design Award, the silver medal of the 13th Yuanye Cup International Competition Professional Group Urban Design, the 2022 ELA International Landscape Award - Top Ten Landscape Projects of the Year, the first prize of the Eduwik Architectural Excellence Award in 2022, the silver medal of the 2022 American Muse Design Award Urban Design Category 7 major awards including the American AMP Master Architect Award for Urban Design Excellence.

It is reported that the Youth Square has a "triple stunning" design, creating a charm of Fujian and an international style, becoming a "popular password".

First, fully demonstrate the cultural heritage. The Youth Association is a landmark building in the Youth Square. Through the demolition of buildings that block the view and the protective repair of external walls, the century-old red brick architectural style has been better displayed. "The most beautiful overpass in Fuzhou", the Youth Bridge, echoes the Youth Association and creates a profound historical and cultural heritage in the Youth Square area.

Second, unleash the charm of nature. The scenery of the Minjiang River is beautiful, but the flood prevention wall along the river originally blocked the view. The design team raised the design and created a youth square covering an area of 16000 square meters. Grassy slopes and barrier-free ramps not only solve the problem of platform height difference, but also facilitate tourists to enter the Youth Square viewing platform to enjoy the first-line river scenery.

Third, innovative design of convenient space. The design team skillfully utilized the underground space of the square platform and the landscape modeling of the grass slope to form an underground intelligent mechanized parking lot that can accommodate 232 parking spaces, which not only ensures the continuity of the landscape view, but also adds convenience space.
