It is understood that the car ro-ro ship is a kind of car transport ship. There is a ramp or lifting platform between the decks to connect with each other for vehicle traffic. The car ro-ro ship to be built this time is powered by LNG dual fuel (liquefied natural gas and conventional fuel), which has the advantages of low fuel cost, environmental protection and low carbon.

According to statistics, there are only more than 700 automobile transport ships in the world, while the automobile ro-ro shipping capacity of Chinese shipowners specializing in international transportation only accounts for about 5% of the global total capacity. "The shipbuilding technology of Mawei Shipbuilding under Fujian Shipbuilding Administration has been recognized by the industry.
