Qingdao emerges as an “air-air transit” hub 发布日期:2024/8/30 来源:International daily 打印

251 kgs of Tricholoma matsutake departed from Kunming in Yunnan Province by plane and arrived at Oska in Japan via transit in Qingdao, marking that the Qingdao Airport has put up an “air-air transit” channel for matsutake originating from Yunnan. Data show that more than 1,200 tons of cargo and mail throughput, including trans-shipments from international flights to domestic ones or vice versa, has been subject to “air-air transit” in the Qingdao Airport by this June, surging 81% over the same period last year.

Since the beginning of this year, the Qingdao Airport has been continuing its efforts to improve the air route network to support the transit system, and has put an increasing number of international transshipment channels such as “Chinese cities-Qingdao-Seoul/Osaka/Melbourne” and “Osaka/Inchon/Hong Kong-Qingdao-Chinese Cities”  into operation on a normal basis. Furthermore, Qingdao continues to work harder on the building of international air routes, and has opened regular international flights for passengers or cargo bound for Japan, South Korea, Europe and America, SCO member states, RCEP signatories and countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. As Qingdao has established connectivity with key ports in major economies in the world through various means of transportation such as all cargo aircraft and bellyhold, Qingdao begins to emerge as an aviation logistics transit center in northern China.  (Zhou Jianliang)
