In the first half of this year, Qingdao's shipbuilding industry showed remarkable momentum, with Qingdao Shipyard and Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, two leading companies in the city, delivering a combined total of 12 vessels. 

Meanwhile, these companies have been actively securing new orders from international clients in Belgium, Norway, Greece, and other countries, with production schedules now extending through 2028.

Qingdao's success in shipbuilding is driven by a combination of cost efficiency, market demand, and robust technological infrastructure. Over the years, the city has developed a comprehensive shipbuilding ecosystem that integrates research, design, construction, support, and services.

The city is also making strides in innovative areas such as low-speed marine engines, clean fuel supply systems, and carbon capture and reuse technologies. These advancements are facilitating the transition from labor-intensive production methods to digital and intelligent manufacturing processes.
