According to data from the Qingdao Municipal Development and Reform Commission, as of the end of this April, 397 key construction projects for 2024 in Qingdao have commenced or were under construction, accounting for 90.2% of the total number of key projects.

Key projects in Qingdao have continued to make headway this year to date. In regard to industrial projects, the second phase of Haier COSMOPlat Industrial Internet Ecological Park, a flagship project in the intelligent household appliance industry chain, has been largely completed and is expected to put into production within this year. The construction of two high-end refrigerator production lines in the third phase of the project, which is in full swing, is expected to conclude at the end of March 2025. Major projects with an investment of more than RMB 1 bln each, including Powerchina Jimo marine photovoltaic power project, Huadian Qingdao natural gas cogeneration project, Zhongqi Holding Group photovolatic module project and Penghui energy storage battery project, are making smooth progress, and once completed, will significantly prop up Qingdao’s high-quality development featuring environmental protection and carbon emission reduction.
