Qingdao recently unveiled the annual target for urban renovation and construction. In 2024, Qingdao plans to execute 1,534 projects on urban renovation and construction. From visible production and living spaces to intangible potential for development, Qingdao will continue to put both existing and additional resources to good use to improve the quality of development.

In terms of public transport, Qingdao will accelerate the construction of 28 unfinished roads, and push ahead with 35 transport infrastructure projects and 25 projects on metro construction and development along metro lines to build faster a comprehensive three-dimensional transport system.

  In terms of housing renovation, this year, Qingdao will renovate 433 old urban residential communities, benefiting 132,000 households, to make more tangible progress in housing renovation. Furthermore, this year, Qingdao plans to build 100 new parking lots to add more than 20,000 parking spaces. In the historical urban area of Qingdao, it is planned to develop internet-based catering and other new commercial activities, which will occupy no less than 100,000 square meters in area.
