Generating capacity is the first in Asia Pacific, second in the world

[Fuzhou Evening News] At 21:25 on July 12, China's first 10-megawatt offshore wind generator set was successfully connected into the grid at the second phase of the Xinghua Bay offshore wind power plant affiliated with China Three Gorges Corporation in Fuqing, Fujian Province, China. This is currently the largest offshore wind generator set in the Asia-Pacific region and the world's second largest in terms of generating capacity. It has set a new record for the generating capacity of offshore wind power in China. Its grid-connected power generation system marks that China's wind power development capability is in the upper echelon in the world. This generator set is the latest generation of large-capacity offshore wind generator set with completely independent intellectual property rights. It is designed with super typhoon resistance ability for Class I wind areas such as Fujian and Guangdong. Under the condition that the average annual wind speed is 10 meters per second, a single generator can deliver 40 million kilowatt-hours clean electricity every year, which can reduce coal consumption by 12,800 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 33,500 tons, and can meet nearly 20,000 families electricity needs.
