[Fuzhou Evening News] Recently, "Viewing Fish and Knowing Music - Palace Goldfish Culture and Goldfish Cultural Theme Relics Exhibition" was held in Beijing Palace Museum. Nearly 200 fine goldfish from all over China were invited to participate. As the main participant of this goldfish exhibition, the Fuzhou goldfish is stunning and attracts the attention of tourists from all over the world.“This time, 'Viewing Fish at Muhai' has restored the historical scene of Qing Dynasty. An old photo of ‘Mrs. Jin Viewing Fish’ exhibited in the Yanxi Palace shows that in late of Qing Dynasty, the Yanxi Palace was a place for fish viewing, and there were many wooden basins where the goldfish of various varieties were raised.” Pan Guocheng, president of Fuzhou Goldfish Industry Association, introduced that the exhibited goldfish were from 12 regions including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Fuzhou. Among them, the number of Fuzhou goldfish accounted for about 40% of the total exhibited goldfish. The most representative Fuzhou goldfish, such as Cow Flower and Butterflytail, attracted the interest of visitors. Artworks such as paper-cuts and lacquer wares with goldfish elements from Fuzhou participated in the goldfish theme cultural relics exhibition.
