Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives are continuing to investigate a shooting that left a man dead in the 500 block of N. Sloan Avenue, Compton, Monday night.
Detectives learned that at approximately 10:40PM, on August 1, 2016, Compton Station deputies responded to the location regarding a “Shots Fired” call. When they arrived they located the victim lying on the driveway, unresponsive, with apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect confronted the victim in the front yard of the location and shot the victim multiple times.
There is no suspect information at this time. The investigation is still active and on-going.
