People across China are busy purchasing festive decorations to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 1.As 2022 is the Year of Tiger in the Chinese zodiac cycle, traditional decorations such as New Year paintings, lanterns, paper-cuts, and other decorative items with image of tiger are now selling like hotcakes in southwest China's Sichuan Province."For the Lunar New Year, we sell lanterns, Spring Festival couplets, Fu (Chinese character for happiness), and other hanging decorations such as artificial chili peppers. The sales of Spring Festival couplets, Fu characters and hanging decorations are pretty good," said a merchant at Luzhou Southwest Trade City."The tiger toys with three bells, paintings with the motif of tiger for window and doorway decoration, and red envelopes printed with the phrase 'Happy New Year' are quite popular," added another vendor.
