The stunning rime scenery and fun skiing activities in northeast China's Jilin City have fascinated both local residents and tourists so far in the current winter season, which in turns boosts the local tourist industry.Well-known for its picturesque winter scenery and reputed as a "rime capital" and "skiing paradise" in China, Jilin City in Jilin Province boasts nine rime landscape belts. The rime, shining on branches of trees like crystal, draws great interests from flocks of visitors frequenting the city each year, and virtually turns the world into a fairy-tale wonderland.During the New Year's Day holiday, tens of thousands of skiing enthusiasts gathered in ski resorts in the city, where they showcased their skiing skills and enjoyed entertainment activities on snow and ice."Skiing can strengthen my willpower and make me tougher, and I hope I will be as unyielding as I am in skiing while doing other things," said a child skier. In the 2020-2021 snow season, Jilin City received 19.43 million tourist visits, with the annual tourism revenue reaching 32.9 billion yuan (about 5.16 billion U.S. dollars) in the year. It is estimated that the city's annual revenue from ice and snow tourism is expected to exceed 74 billion yuan (about 11.6 billion U.S. dollars) by 2025.
