The Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway Qingdao Museum, which embodies the history of the first railway in Shandong province, recently opened.
Located at Qingdao Railway Station, the starting point of Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway, the Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway Qingdao Museum, which together with the Jinan Museum at the terminal of the railway form a pattern featuring “one body with two wings, echoing from beginning to ending”, has become a new landmark for Shandong railway culture. With an exhibition area of 1,823 square meters, the museum is home to over 1,400 cultural relics, exhibits and photos. By adopting such means of exhibition as historical relics, restored carriages, simulated CRH driving and VR cinema etc., five exhibition areas with the theme of “Origination”, “Connection”, “Fighting”, “Soul Building”, “Take-off” respectively demonstrate the evolvement of Jiaozhou-Jinan Railway in over one century as well as a series of historic changes triggered by the railway construction in politics, economy, culture and education etc. (Xue Huafei /Li Wei)
