The 2021 Chinese Happy Cities Forum, co-sponsored by Oriental Outlook, Xinhua News Agency and Outlook Think Tank, recently released online the list of 2021 Happiest Chinese Cities. Qingdao made the list. The city of Jiaozhou was also included on the list of 2021 Happiest Chinese Cities (County-level Cities).

The Chinese Happy Cities Forum has been held successfully for 15 consecutive years. The annual investigation and recommendation event aims to figure out the sense of happiness in different Chinese cities. The indicator system consists of nine grade-one indicators, namely employment index, resident income index, life quality index, ecological environment index, urban attractiveness index, public safety index, education index, transportation index, medical treatment and health index, as well as over one hundred grade-two segmented indicators.  (Yang Qiqi)
