Fiscal revenue of Qingdao exceeds 130 billion yuan for the first time

According to the Qingdao Municipal Finance Bureau, the local general public budget revenue of Qingdao amounted to 136.8 billion yuan in 2021, up 9.1 percent year-on-year and exceeding 130 billion yuan for the first time. The tax revenue, which amounted to 101.7 billion yuan, comprised 74.3 percent of the total fiscal revenue, 2.6 percentage points higher over last year.
The local general public budget expenditure of Qingdao reached 170.5 billion yuan in 2021. The livelihood expenditure amounted to 123.5 billion yuan and comprised 72.4 percent of the general public budget expenditure. All expenditures directly relating to civic life, including education, social security, hygiene and health as well as housing security etc., witnessed rapid growth.
In 2021, Qingdao further implemented policies of tax cuts and fee reductions which were aimed at relieving financial burdens and resuming development. The newly increased tax cuts and fee reductions in the past year hit 12 billion yuan. In addition, to buck the trend and boost foreign trade, Qingdao exempted enterprises from 2.2 billion yuan port construction charges for cargoes imported and exported and handled 35.52 billion yuan export tax rebate or exemption from January to November 2021.
