Qingdao included among the Global Top 500 Cities
and ranked 13th among Chinese cities on the list

An analysis report, compiled by Global City Lab, of the Global Top 500 Cities was released in New York on December 30, 2021. From the six perspectives, including economy, culture, governance, environment, talent and reputation, the report figured out the brand value of main cities in different countries. Qingdao ranked 125th among the Global Top 500 Cities and took the 13th place among 40 Chinese cities that made the list. The brand value of Qingdao has reached 155.329 billion USD, equivalent to about 986.7 billion yuan. Both its ranking and brand have made progress over the former years. Qingdao, which ranked 10th among Chinese mainland cities and 2nd in Northern China, outpaced Tianjin.
Following the rapid pace of urban transformation, Qingdao has regained rapid progress in comprehensive urban strength and competitiveness, clinched several honorary titles one by one, including the 13th place in the 1-trillion-yuan GDP club, the 8th place among the top 100 cities for comprehensive competitiveness, the 10th place in the 2021 rankings of Chinese scientific and technological innovation competitiveness, the 7th place among the top 100 cities for advanced manufacturing and the 6th place in the 2021 rankings of Chinese urban digital transformation competitiveness etc. These honors corresponded well to the remarkable performance of Qingdao on the ranking list.
