Video of a Turkish man's daily life in a village in southwest China's Sichuan Province has gone viral online, pushing him to be an internet celebrity.Burak came across his now wife when doing small business in Yiwu City, China's small commodities trade hub in eastern Zhejiang Province, and they fell in love with each other some ten years ago. After their marriage, they moved to the wife's hometown in rural Luzhou eight years ago.He got himself a Chinese name "Abu." He learned how to do farm work, how to cook Sichuan cuisine and how to feed pigs and chicken and became gradually used to his life in the village."I'm doing a good job of feeding pigs, chicken and ducks every day. And I'm mowing sweet potato vines every day. I harvested maize for a week," Abu said.The rural life offers him tranquility and inner peace; and he decided to record what he is doing by shooting short video footage and upload and share them to the internet in May.Unexpectedly, his video became a big hit later on Douyin (with its overseas version called TikTok). Now he has more than 300,000 followers and his video has won over 3.26 million thumbs-up.Expressing his gratitude to his followers and those who like watching his video, he said he hopes to sell and promote local agricultural products via livestreaming.Later, if he succeeds, he will publish these video in Turkish on TikTok so as to let the world better know Luzhou and Chinese rural culture."It's stranger for foreigners that a foreigner can lead a life in Chinese rural areas. I want to show them I'm so comfortable as here is so enjoyable," Abu said.
