Residents in southwest China's Chongqing no longer have to travel far and wide to enjoy the snow following the public opening of the Chongqing Zoo Xiongqi Ice and Snow Park on Saturday. The comprehensive parent-child amusement park features an array of fun-filled ice and snow activities, including an ice castle maze, ice slide, ice and snow cabin and other exquisite ice features."The biggest entertainment facility is the ice slide. It's totally made of ice, with a length of about 150 meters," said Wang Tongli, director of the amusement park."The ice slide is the most enjoyable. I like it very much, because it is very fast when sliding down and it has a sharp turn," said Sun Juncan, a tourist. In addition to entertainment facilities, there are many breathtaking ice sculptures on display. Among them, asculpture, named "Dragon Dream," won the national first prize after taking nearly a month to be completed. The park adopts a special snow-making technology to simulate the natural snowfall process in the temperature of minus 10 degree Celsius, showing a beautiful scene of falling snowflakes."The snow is falling thick and fast, and it feels like real snowfall. I’m feeling that it is real winter. I like it very much," said Chen Zhixuan, a tourist. The park is open from 9:00 to 17:00 all week round. To engage in activities in the park, tourists must wear non-slip shoes and winter coats provided by the park, and no food is allowed.
