Xinxing County’s “Art Villages” Break New Ground

Art and Culture| In Xinxing County, Yunfu, Guangdong Province, 14 arts and cultural associations and their 1,326 members are bringing creativity into rural communities through the “Rural Art Ambassadors” initiative. The county has established a three-tier network: an arts and cultural association at the township level, an arts and cultural coordinator in each village, and an arts envoy in each natural village. The initiative uses art to develop rural communities, support local businesses, and improve community governance, making cultural activities a lasting part of everyday life. With 96 “Xinxing Art Stations” established across the county, art is becoming more visible in rural communities. Colorful murals are refreshing village landscapes, local markets are drawing activity, and cultural events are creating opportunities for residents to connect. Selected as an Outstanding Art Innovation Project of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the initiative offers an example of how culture can help revitalize rural communities, support local industries, and contribute to long-term rural development.#artandculture
