Mesh Installation Begins for World’s Widest Catwalk

City Life | On October 8th, installation of the catwalk mesh began on the Shiziyang Bridge, part of Contract Section T9 of the Shiziyang Channel project, a major transport infrastructure project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). Each side of the catwalk is 6.26 meters wide, making it the world’s widest suspension bridge construction catwalk, according to the project team. It will provide a working platform for the installation of the bridge’s massive main cables. Designed as a double-deck suspension bridge with a main span of 2,180 meters, Shiziyang Bridge is reported to set five world records. The project team is applying specialized engineering techniques, rope-climbing robots for surveying and intelligent monitoring systems to improve the precision and digital management of catwalk construction. 10月8日，粤港澳大湾区核心枢纽工程狮子洋通道T9合同段狮子洋大桥猫道面网正式开始铺设，该猫道单幅宽度达6.26米，是目前世界最宽悬索桥施工猫道，为后续超大主缆架设筑牢作业平台。狮子洋大桥是主跨2180米的双层钢桁悬索桥，创下五项世界第一；项目团队通过专项科研攻关、爬绳机器人测量和智能监测体系，推动猫道施工数字化、精细化管控，计划年底前完成猫道架设。
