The Ancient Charm Reborn in in Songtang Village, Xiqiao Town

In early spring, ancient pines begin to sprout beside the wok-ear houses of Songtang Village in Xiqiao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan. Expansive ponds shimmer, and villagers and tourists stroll through the bluestone-paved lanes of this historic village. With a history of over 800 years, Songtang Village earned the title “Village of Hanlin” by producing more than twenty jinshi (metropolitan graduates) and juren (provincial graduates) during the Ming and Qing dynasties, four of whom were admitted to the Hanlin Academy. Today, as a National Historical and Cultural Village and National AAA-Level Scenic Area, Songtang Village is cultivating a distinctive cultural tourism brand, with culture at its heart and innovation driving development, revitalizing its millennium-old charm amid rural revitalization efforts.

岭南早春，佛山市南海区西樵镇松塘村的镬耳屋旁古松抽芽，连片水塘波光粼粼，青石板古巷间，不时有村民游客穿梭。这座拥有800多年历史的古村，因明清时期走出二十余名进士举人、四人入翰林院，素有“翰林村”美誉。如今，这座获评中国历史文化名村、国家AAA级景区的岭南古村，以文化为核、创新为翼，打造特色文旅品牌，让千年古韵在乡村振兴的浪潮中焕发新生。
