Conghua, Guangzhou Sees Its First Frost This Winter — Lvtian Mustard Greens Get Sweeter

At Lvtian Town on the northern slopes of Conghua District, Guangzhou City, a rare frost-tinted tableau unfolds—an uncommon winter sight in Lingnan.Situated at a higher elevation, the town’s mountain climate brings pronounced day–night temperature differences. In winter, nocturnal radiative cooling causes moisture in the air to crystallize into white frost, blanketing fields, crops and branches. This shimmering frost not only creates a seasonal spectacle, but also nurtures the distinctive flavors and produce unique to Lvtian.
