Art and Culture | On August 9, "Georgette Chen: At Home in the World" opened at Shenzhen's He Xiangning Art Museum. Hailing from a prominent Chinese merchant family before settling in Singapore, Chen forged a unique style blending Impressionist and Post-Impressionist techniques, establishing her as a luminary of Southeast Asia's localized modernist movement. The exhibition spans still lifes, landscapes, and portraits, showcasing both her early European-phase creations and later artworks blending cultural imprints from China and Southeast Asia, revealing a distinctive East-West synthesis and profound engagement with cross-cultural narratives. #artandculture
