Diaozitang Village, Ruyuan, Shaoguan: Cultural Roots Shape a New Future for This Yao Countryside

In midsummer, Diaozitang Village in Ruyuan, Shaoguan, bursts with lush greenery. Once a remote mountain settlement of the Guoshan Yao people, the village is embracing a new path of integrated agriculture, culture, and tourism thanks to the “Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Project”. Yao cultural elements are everywhere: stilt-style traditional architecture, walls decorated with Yao patterns, and murals along village paths telling stories of customs and migration—all preserving a unique aesthetic of Yao living.

盛夏时节，韶关乳源瑶族自治县东坪镇新村雕子塘村绿意盎然。这座曾藏于深山的过山瑶村寨，借 “百千万工程” 东风，走出一条瑶族文化主线的农文旅融合之路。作为瑶族村寨，雕子塘村建设处处融入瑶族风情：建筑仿传统吊脚楼风格，墙面饰瑶族纹样，村道壁画讲述民俗与迁徙史，延续独特居住美学。
