The love and friendship between Sichuan’s giant pandas and the Greater Bay Area

Lingnan: Beauty Beyond Borders | Lang Shunyun, a woman from Hong Kong, has loved giant pandas since she was a child, and when she grew up, she became a giant panda keeper at Ocean Park Hong Kong, taking care of the giant #panda ‘Ying Ying’, which was gifted to HongKong by mainland China. In 2015, she accompanied ‘Ying Ying’ back to her hometown in Wolong, Sichuan, to carry out a breeding program. At the Shenshuping base of the #China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in the Wolong National Nature Reserve, she met Dong Chao, a staff member, and the two tied the knot because of giant pandas.

So far, Lang has been working as a keeper at the Wolong National Nature Reserve for five years. Walking around here, you can see giant pandas everywhere. Their free and comfortable life could not have been possible without the support of Hong Kong, which is about 1,900 kilometersaway from Sichuan. Because the base where they live was sponsored by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (#HKSAR). In appreciation of Hong Kong's help, the Shenshuping base is permanently open to Hong Kong people free of charge. #SplendidLingnan
