“Qiaopi” Premieres in Ningbo

Art and Culture | On the evening of May 6, Zhuhai's first original national opera “Qiaopi” debuted at #Ningbo Grand Theatre. Qiaopi opened the memory box of the years and showed the difficult history of overseas Chinese entrepreneurship and strong #patriotic feelings to the audience. Qiaopi in #China's coastal areas like #Guangdong and Fujian had flourished for a while and was romantically known as “letters across the sea”, through which overseas #Chinese contacted and offered #financial support back to their families through private channels, financial and postal institutions, as well as their replies. #artandculture

5月6日晚，珠海首部原创民族歌剧《侨批》亮相宁波大剧院，一封封侨批，轻启岁月的匣子，向观众展现了侨胞艰难的创业史和浓厚的家国情怀。侨批在广东、福建沿海地区曾兴盛一时，是海外华侨通过民间渠道及金融、邮政机构寄回给国内眷属的、附有汇款的书信及其回文的统称，被浪漫得称为“跨越大海的来信”。
