During the Chinese New Year, Jiaying Ancient Town in Meijiang District, Meizhou City, is bustling with excitement and celebration. In this ancient town with numerous traditional Hakka cuisine establishments, masters of fried snacks skillfully and swiftly perform actions like kneading, frying, and scooping at their shops. From golden-brown pan-fried cakes, crispy and savory fried dumplings, to the uniquely flavored fried taro balls, these essential traditional delicacies for the Hakka people of Meizhou during the Chinese New Year symbolize a vibrant and harmonious start to 2024.
