National cultural ecological reserve in Meizhou

#TheGreatBeautyofGuangdong The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China recently released the list of its second batch of national cultural and ecological reserves. The Hakka Culture (Meizhou) ecological reserve has made it to the list.

As a result of unremitting efforts over 10 years, the Hakka Culture (Meizhou) Ecological Protection Experimental Zone has been accepted and got recognized as the first national cultural and ecological protection zone in Guangdong.

Meizhou is an excellent tourist city in China. It is a famous national historical and cultural city, which is considered the cultural capital of East Asia. It enjoys many more reputations, such as the "Hakka Culture Capital of the World", and the "Longevity Capital of the World".

According to statistics, there are more than 7 million expatriate Chinese and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan compatriots whose ancestral home is Meizhou. They live in more than 80 countries and regions around the world.

近日，文化和旅游部公布了第二批国家级文化生态保护区名单，客家文化（梅州）生态保护区名列其中。经过十多年的不懈努力，客家文化（梅州）生态保护实验区成功通过验收，成为目前广东首个国家级文化生态保护区。

梅州是中国优秀旅游城市、国家历史文化名城、东亚文化之都，享有“世界客都”“世界长寿之都”等众多美誉。据统计，祖籍梅州的海外华人、华侨和港澳台同胞达700多万人，遍布80多个国家和地区。
