Liantang Village in Huadu Distinct, Guangzhou: Water dances around stones with echoes of longing amidst the hazy mist

#TheGreatBeautyofLingnanLiantang Village, situated at the convergence of the Pearl River's northern tributaries, exudes an enchanting ancient charm. The village is adorned with serene lakes and bordered by the upper stream of the Bajiang River, known as the Jiuqu River. As the Jiuqu River gracefully winds through the western part of the village, the majestic Zhongdong Mountain proudly dominates the eastern landscape. Liantang village derives its name from a piece of land resembling a lotus leaf in the nearby waters, while the gentle hills behind it resemble blooming lotus flowers. Renowned all over the region, this ancient village once gained fame for a remarkable meteorite featured in poetry and literary works by celebrated writers and poets. This colossal meteorite was honored as one of the eight historical sites in Huadu District. Presently, Liantang Village preserves over 500 well-maintained ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

在珠江北江支流汇流处，巴江九曲河的上游，有一处湖泊密布、古韵悠长的村落，九曲河从村西穿境而过，中洞山在村东耸立，因村附近水域中有一块陆地，形似莲叶，村后小山丘像莲花，因而得名莲塘村。莲塘村是广州市名镇名村、广东省古村落，曾因有“花都旧八景”之一“乌石幽奇”而闻名。目前，莲塘村较完整地保留了明清古建筑500多座。
