Just Dance, recognized as world's top music video game, among 10 disciplines was featured in the finals of the inaugural Olympic Esports Week (OEW).

Developed by Ubisoft, Just Dance is the No.1 music video game of all time, with more than 80 million copies sold since 2009 and more than 140 million players worldwide.

The inaugural OEW concluded in Singapore on Sunday, marking the end of the finals for the 2023 Olympic Esports Series.

Ng Ser Miang, vice president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), stated that the event represented a historic milestone, building bridges between the physical and virtual world of sports.

The events contested in Singapore also included Just Dance, where Amandine Morisset, also known as "The Fairy Dina," clinched the inaugural Olympic Esports Week title.

Amandine Morisset, also known as The Fairy Dina, is a celebrity in the Just Dance community. She is a three-time champion of the Just Dance World Cup in France. She has 215,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel following her every move. As she danced off against the U.S. champion Joseph "Aazzlano" Cordero at the inaugural Olympic Esports Series in Singapore, Dina officially became an Olympic world champion.

"I believe that the fact that it's about dancing, that is very visual, it really creates a unique atmosphere. It's very colorful, and it has very positive values. All of that makes it so that everyone feels welcome when they want to play the game," said Matthew Tomkinson, creative director of Just Dance.

Karl Owen Gonzalvo, a graphic designer, and Remy Vivasane, Ubisoft Star player, are die-hard fans of the game and active members of the community.

"I often play Just Dance. It's about more than 10 years. I'm really excited, really glad that this is a real hobby for me. I will keep supporting the game and we want to see people dancing," said Karl Owen Gonzalvo, a graphic designer.

"I really enjoy the game, and because of Just Dance I met a lot of friends around the world. I like to spread the joy and my passion to the game," said Remy Vivasane, Ubisoft Star player.

Just Dance is one of the 10 esports represented in the first-ever Olympic Esports Week, from June 23 to 25 in Singapore.

A total of eight players from different countries, including France, the United States, China, and Singapore, competed at the finals.

The OEW was initiated by the IOC in collaboration with Singapore's Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Sport Singapore, and the Singapore National Olympic Council.
