Brazil's National Museum on Sunday held dazzling displays to celebrate its 205th founding anniversary which falls on Tuesday.
The national museum in Rio de Janeiro held free exhibitions which displayed meteorites as well as specimens of marine creatures and minerals found in Brazil.
The museum also invited scientists to introduce to crowds of young people their achievements in Brazil's Antarctic scientific expedition while displaying fossils of animals and plants found in Antarctica dating back to 90 million years ago.
In September 2018, a fire ravaged the National Museum of Brazil and burned most of its 20-million-item collection, including some of the most valuable pieces on the American continent.
Some of its exhibition halls are scheduled to reopen on June 6, 2024 after renovations.
