President Xi Jinping:

calling for conservation of mangrove

On April 10, 2023, President Xi Jinping came to the city of Zhanjiang during his inspection tour of Guangdong province, inspected the Jinniu Island mangrove area in Huguang town in Mazhang district, and looked into the local mangrove conservation efforts.

Shajing Haoxiang Lake Park (Highlights: complicated, comprehensive, difficult in construction)

Located in Shajing Subdistrict, Baoan District, Shenzhen, the project covered a total area of around 150,000 square meters, with a total investment of approximately RMB300 million.

Construction works comprised garden greening, garden building, lighting works, intelligent engineering, electric relocation, ultra-long-distance cofferdam, reinforcement and renovation of historic buildings, pile foundation and foundation pit support, civil works of large underground parking, decoration of flower corridors, dual-curve longspan steel structure rainbow-shaped bridge, dryland music fountain and ecological wetland purification system, etc.

The project, highly appraised by the employer and well received by the citizens, won reputation in the industry and clinched the municipal gold award for outstanding demonstration projects.

Qianhai Bauhinia Park (Highlights: high quality, high-end park, construction techniques, faithful contract performance)

On the periphery of the Shenzhen Qianhai International Convention Center, the project is among the auxiliary landscape projects for the venue where President Xi Jinping attended a grand gathering celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.

Covering an area of around 18,000 square meters, the project cost more than RMB100 million.

With the theme of “Qianhai amid Flowers, Falling Petals in Profusion”, the park intends to seek coordination and integration with the square of the Qianhai International Convention Center and the landscape system of the Guiwan river water corridor park and bolster cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong by improving and supplementing the cultural, art and science popularization exhibition functions of Bauhinia Park. The project, featuring premium imported granite, customized music fountain equipment, the pioneering petal-themed translucent concrete slabs in China, three-surface special-shaped petal stone seats and strictly-selected graceful-looking landscape trees, has shaped an urban space of special historic significance and marking the cooperation and friendship between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as an example of high-quality garden building.

Xixiang Xiwan mangrove conservation (highlights: mangrove wetland park conservation, coastal mangrove conservation)

Located in the junction of Jinwan Avenue and west sea embankment, Baoan district, Shenzhen, a conservation area of 550,000 square meters.

The project comprised ecological restoration, greening maintenance, environmental sanitarian and cleaning, maintenance of facilities and mangrove conservation.

Remarks: With the theme of “Colorful Xiwan, Vigorous Life”, the park is characterized by mangrove and a demonstration area for high-quality coastal landscapes that integrates leisure, recreation and science popularization. The conservation project has won the gold medal for provincial demonstration maintenance projects.
