A grand long street banquet with 433 tables of dishes was held in Habo Village, southwest China's Yunnan Province, as the villagers of Hani ethnic group marked their traditional festival from Tuesday to Thursday.
The long street banquet, which is a time-honored tradition of Hani ethnic group to celebrate the "Angmatu" Festival -- a traditional Hani ritual activity staged before spring ploughing, is usually held in three days.
On the festival days, villagers would cook traditional Hani delicacies, including roasted pig and fried bamboo worms. Each household sets up one or two tables of food, placing them in a long row along the street to resemble a dragon. Visitors are also welcome to join in and enjoy the festive atmosphere and delicious food with the Hani people.
At the forefront of the long street banquet is the "dragon head" position, which is taken by most esteemed and respected local figures, known as "Mi Gu". Guests and other friends sit along the tables.
When the banquet begins, "Mi Gu" who sits at the "Dragon Head" position leads everyone in singing and dancing, and they raise their glasses and offer mutual blessings.
