The China Media Group (CMG) is set to air a special program on August 22 to celebrate the Qixi Festival or Chinese Valentine's Day, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.

With a highly creative stage design, star-studded performing group and ingenious programs, the program is aimed to bring the audience a refreshing audio-visual feast at a time to celebrate love and romance.
"The LED screen at the main stage is designed in the shape of a pair of magpies. Each program will be designed according to the shape of our current stage modeling," said Hu Yuepeng, visual director of the grand event.
This year's special program is based on the creative concept of presenting Chinese-style romance based on the changes and reconstructions of the Qixi Festival's cultural connotations.
Around the main stage, more than 20 booths with Chinese characteristics were set up displaying special delicacies, interactive installations of intangible cultural heritage, and China chic products, which are expected to give on-spot audiences an immersive experience of the festival.
"You will find that the scene is very interesting. You can buy food, drinks, and gadgets. We also have interactive installations. What we want is to break the rules and spend the most traditional festival of the Chinese in the youngest and most fashionable state," said Yang Jinmeng, chief director of the special program.
