Cool seekers in summer heat drives tourism up 发布日期:2023/8/4 来源:International Daily 打印

People escaping the summer heat to seek cool in areas blessed with abundant tourism resources have driven up China's tourism in the season.

Boasting cool and refreshing environment, the coastal city of Dalian in northeastern China's Liaoning Province, serves as a summer refuge for many domestic tourists this year.
The Tiger Beach Ocean Park, a big modern lido in the city, receives up to 20,000 visitors daily.
"I came to Dalian this time mainly to take my kid to the Tiger Beach Ocean Park and have fun on the beach. We feel cool so long as we come to the place where the sea breeze blows over," said a tourist from Beijing.
Throngs of tourists have also driven up the businesses of local catering, hotel and other industries.
"The current occupancy rate of the entire hotel is about 50 percent more than that of the same period last year, and the overall occupancy rate is above 90 percent on average everyday," said Wang Danxia, director of marketing and communication at the Shangri-La Dalian.
According to the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, in the first half of this year, the city received a total of 48.8423 million tourists, with a year-on-year increase of 46.56 percent, and its revenue in tourism sector reached 50.373 billion yuan (around 7.04 billion U.S. dollars), up 103.58 percent year on year.
Scenic spots in China's high-altitude areas are also cool seekers' top options.
The Qishan Grassland, a top-class scenic spot in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, attracts people with its vast stretches of coneflowers by the hillside.
"These flowers are blooming in large patches on the grassland. The scenery is dreamy and beautiful," said a tourist.
The Black Valley Scenic Area in the city launched a music season on Saturday night. From July 29 to Aug 19, it will put up four music feasts in different styles on every Saturday from 19:30 to 22:00.
