Bazar International de Luxembourg showcases global cultures 发布日期:2024/11/22 来源:International Daily 打印

The Bazar International de Luxembourg opened its doors to visitors on the evening of Friday, November 15, 2024, drawing a diverse crowd with its vibrant and characteristic stands.

A long-standing favorite among locals and expats alike, the three-day Bazar International de Luxembourg has been a cornerstone of the Grand Duchy’s cultural and culinary scene for decades.
As the largest annual fundraising event in Luxembourg, the Bazar donates all profits to humanitarian projects worldwide. It features approximately 60 stands, each representing a country or group of countries.
The China Stand, organized primarily by members of the Chinese Women’s Club of Luxembourg, was a highlight of the event.
Twenty-four-year-old Chen Tingting, born and raised in Luxembourg, is proud of her Chinese heritage. As a second-generation immigrant, she is particularly honored to be part of the China Stand.
"Here, we meet many foreign friends who have never experienced Chinese culture before. Through our stand, they can learn so much, which makes us truly happy," said Chen.
This year, over 50 volunteers from this club and beyond, including club members and their families -- some as young as 7 years old --contributed their efforts to the China Stand.
The stand presented traditional and modern Chinese cultural goods for purchase, while its selection of Chinese foods remained one of the most popular attractions at the Bazar.
"It's beautiful. I think everything that you sell is very interesting and very decorative. So beautiful," said a visitor who tried a Chinese style hair band at the stand.
"Our goal of participating in this event is to help Chinese people in Luxembourg integrate better into the local community. We also aim to use this platform to promote Chinese culture and show China to the world," said Lin Xiaoshan, vice president of the Chinese Women’s Club of Luxembourg.
The Bazar International de Luxembourg is supported by the Luxembourg royal family, with Maria Teresa, the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, serving as the main patron.
"At the end of the day, you do in one evening, or one afternoon, you do a world tour of all the countries of the world. What's beautiful is that it's a world tour in fraternity, in peace and understanding, and seeing beautiful cultural objects of every country and understanding one another. So, it's a great pleasure to be the patron of this Bazar," said Teresa.
