China's film box office for the summer movie season surpassed 2 billion yuan or about 275 million U.S. dollars at 09:00 local time on Saturday.

The number includes current showtimes and pre-sale tickets for movies spanning from June to August.

The top three blockbusters so far are family story "Moments We Shared," comedy "Be My Friend," and crime comedy "Walk the Line."

More than 80 domestic and imported films with different genres have announced their release for China's summer movie season, believed to meet the diverse needs of Chinese audiences.

The historical war film "A Life of Loyalty" tells the story of Communist Party members who fight valiantly against the Kuomingtang party's secret service organization. The realistic film "Upstream" explores how to find courage and faith and redefine the direction of life in the face of adversities and difficulties. The Cantonese opera film "Madam Xian" recreates the story of the legendary figure living in the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420-589), who has made outstanding contributions to safeguarding national unity and ethnic solidarity, and promoting the development of Lingnan region.

In addition, feature film "Welcome to My Side," documentary series "Seek Out Natural Mysteries," and other diversified and multi-genre movies will also hit Chinese screens during the summer movie season.
