Camping site job fair creates friendly, relaxed environment for graduates, hirers 发布日期:2024/5/17 来源:International Daily 打印

A grassland camping site job fair that combines camping and gaming with various job interviews in south China's Guangzhou City has created a friendly and relaxed environment for young job seekers and employers, deepening their mutual understanding while heightening the odds of offers.

The fair was held on the grassland of the Guangzhou University Town, where over 1,700 jobs were offered by potential employers from 35 companies for both interns and full-time job seekers, attracting batches of university students.
The offered vacant positions covered sectors like the manufacturing industry, trade and cultural tourism.
"For Gen Z graduates, this job fair is something brand new. All the settings are surrounded by nature and it makes us feel relaxed and won't be getting cold feet," said a student job seeker.
Competitions for job seekers were also held at the scene. After groups of job seekers discussed questions and delivered speeches on team plans, they could have an opportunity to engage in in-depth communication with potential employers.
"The competition enables us to observe how the students handle it in detail. Compared with simply sitting down and talking for about two to three minutes, the competition helps us know the students better," said a potential hirer.
On the camping site, some camps were set up for job seekers to have a rest and drink a cup of coffee, where they could ask for professional advice on resume writing.
"This job fair lasted longer than conventional ones. At some points, it lasted into night so that the students and hirers could have more time for in-depth exchanges," said Hong Penghui, representative of the event's organizers.
An AI interview machine was also available for use at the job fair. Before the students talk face to face with a real hirer, they can first get prepared with the help of the intelligent technology.
"The machine just asked me a question, which is somewhat beyond my preparation. After the job fair, I will have a targeted practice on related questions, so that I can answer a similar question better in a real job interview some day later," said a student job seeker.
