The grounds around a former Olympic sports stadium in Shenyang, the capital city of northeast China's Liaoning Province, have been temporarily converted into an ice and snow park, providing an opportunity for tourists to embrace a host of fun-filled winter activities.

Spanning an area of approximately 200,000 square meters, the special park has been constructed around the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center stadium, which previously hosted football matches during the 2008 Beijing Summer Games, taking advantage of the venue's reduced utilization during the winter season.

Situated in an urban area of the city, the park provides convenient access for nearby residents to partake in enjoyable activities during the weekends or after work.

In the one month since its opening, it has welcomed some 100,000 visitors, with around 30 percent arriving from different parts of the country as the northeast of China continues to experience a tourism boom.
