Many venues for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou of east China's Zhejiang Province opened to the public during the three-day New Year holiday which ended on Monday, with an aim to engage more residents in sports.

On Monday, the very first day of 2024, the comprehensive training hall of Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center officially opened to the public.
The former venue for nine Asian Games events including basketball and volleyball looks fascinating from the outside, as its architectural appearance takes "Jade Cong" of Liangzhu culture as the design concept.
"The facilities at this place are very new and good," said Wang Lixing, a resident.
Following the post-Games renovations, the venue is now operated jointly by the venue management team and professional social institutions.
Starting from Thursday, the badminton venue will release certain discounts on weekdays, and more preferential measures for other venues will be introduced gradually, allowing more sports lovers to play regularly.
"We meet more frequently than before to play basketball, and I feel this is also the influence of the Asian Games," said Guo Jingyang, a resident.
In Hangzhou's Lin'an District, the Lin'an Sports Culture Convention and Exhibition Center Gymnasium -- former venue for Taekwondo and wrestling competitions -- have been recently transformed into a ball game compound stadium allowing basketball, badminton and other sports.
The venue is also equipped with hotels and banquet centers, which can be comprehensively utilized in the future to provide one-stop services for various large-scale events and further unleash the potential in this district.
