A C919 airplane of China Southern Airlines took off from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on Friday, as the airline completed the first regular in-depth maintenance of its first domestically produced large passenger aircraft.

This achievement represents a new milestone in the full-lifecycle maintenance and support system for C919.
Aircraft maintenance checks are routine maintenance tasks in civil aviation designed to ensure flight safety.
They are classified into different levels based on the depth, duration, and scope of the inspection. A C-check is a high-level and comprehensive overhaul.

This was the first C-check for China Southern Airlines' C919 passenger jet since it entered service.

Over 20 consecutive days of work, the staff members strictly adhered to airworthiness standards to conduct item-by-item inspections, disassembly checks, and performance tests on the aircraft's airframe structure, power systems, flight control systems, and avionics equipment, encompassing a total of 28 engineering modification directives.

The results of the maintenance checks show that all aircraft data met the required standards and the aircraft returned to service in optimal condition.

Since its maiden flight in September 2024, the airline's C919 fleet has grown to 10 aircraft, operating over 10,700 flights and carrying a total of 1.455 million passengers.

The fleet currently operates regular commercial routes between Guangzhou and Nanjing, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Hefei, Wuhan, Beijing's Daxing Airport, Xi'an, and other destinations, connecting Guangzhou with a total of 22 cities.
