According to the newly-unveiled 2025 Report on Chinese Cities’ Indexes of Business Competitiveness Arising from Environmental Protection, Qingdao secured the seventh position. Qingdao was included among the top 10 for the third consecutive year, whose ranking has improved from year to year.
The report is intended to make an annual evaluation on services provided by environmental protection departments and business environment competitiveness of the top 50 Chinese cities in terms of GDP in 2024. In regard to city-specific data, Qingdao excelled tremendously in construction honors and secured the first place among the five municipalities with independent planning status, and ranked second among the five cities in terms of comprehensive scoring.
Over recent years, Qingdao has stayed committed to promoting mutual advancement of ecological conservation and economic development, made a bigger push for reforms on optimizing business environment in fields relating to ecological conservation, and taken active steps to contribute to green, low-carbon and high-quality development in social and economic spheres.
