The list of China demonstration elderly-friendly communities for 2023 was recently unveiled. A total of 53 residential communities in Shandong Province made the list, four of which are located in Qingdao, namely Zhanshan Community, in Zhanshan Neighborhood, Shinan District, Yan’an No. 2 Road Community in Yan’an Road Neighborhood, Shibei District, Liziyuan Community in Liyuan Neighborhood, Pingdu City and Liquanzhuang New Village in Jiangshan Town, Laixi City.

Since the beginning of 2021, every district or county-level city in Qingdao has boasted at least one China demonstration elderly-friendly community. The rising number of such demonstration communities in Qingdao can provide a model to be used for reference and transferred elsewhere for the purpose of facilitate continuous improvements in elderly living environment and elderly services.  (Huang Fei)
