The Qingdao Sub-Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) recently dispatched the first overseas exhibition delegation for 2024, consisting of five enterprises, to attend Heimtextil (International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles) in Frankfurt, Germany. The delegation welcomed more than 200 new and old clients, and harvested more than RMB 10 mln worth of orders of intent, increasing threefold year-on-year.
“We have been attending Heimtexil for over a decade in a row. In the latest exhibition, we have not only maintained good momentum in old clients and products, but also made breakthroughs in new clients and products. We have signed orders of intent worth more than USD 600,000.” Han Lei, the general manager of Qingdao Fuyuan Handicraft Co., Ltd. showed great satisfaction with the exhibition.
Attending exhibitions leads to opportunities. “The first quarter when many exhibitions are held in Europe is usually a window period to tap into European markets for the year. We will dispatch businesses to attend 7 key international exhibitions, 5 of which are located in Europe.” According to a person in charge of the Qingdao Sub-branch of CCPIT, companies are more inclined to go abroad for exhibitions over the same period last year, thus resulting in a surge in the frequency of “going out”.
