An adorable corsac fox was spotted pattering across the snowy plains of north China, digging holes and bouncing merrily.
Footage of the fox was captured at Heishantou Township of Hulun Buir City in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The lovely creature seemed to be searching for food in the vast white snowfield. Between energetic bursts, it sometimes sat on the ground to rest or raised its ears vigilantly.
With a body length of 50-60 centimeters, a tail length of 25-35 centimeters and a weight of around 2-3 kilograms, the corsac fox is the smallest fox in China, living mainly in steppe, desert and semi-desert areas. In 2008, the species was listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
It mainly feeds on rodents and plays an important role in regulating rodent populations and controlling rodent damage to fragile prairie lands.
