For the last few days, Qingdao has continued to launch new marine tourism products. For example, tourists can take a pleasure ship to see the sunrise on the sea or visit the Qingdao Marine Science Museum to experience the amazing world of marine science and technology.

“I went to the Olympic Sailing Center after arrival in Qingdao by plane last midnight. I look forward very much to watching the sunrise.” “This is my first time to watch the sunrise on the sea. I want to see an unusual view.” On the morning of September 9, hundreds of tourists were longing for the imminent sunrise watching while having breakfast on the pleasure ship named Lanhai Zhenzhu (Blue Sea Pearl). On the same day, the sunrise watching program was launched in the tourism market.

The ship departed at 5:10 am. As the ship advanced, it got increasingly bright, and a successive stream of tourists walked out of the cabin to see the exciting scenery at dawn, in which mountains, seas, the city and the bay set off each other. After about half an hour’s navigation, the red light arose in the place where the sea met the sky. As the morning glow became increasingly rosy, the sun was unveiled and rose slowly from the sea surface. While watching the sunrise, tourists scrambled to take photos with fresh flowers they brought on board. Taking a pleasure-ship to the sea, a Qingdao tourism product, finds favor with tourists. To date, Qingdao has launched more than 10 sea travel products in eight sea lines. The sunrise watching event on the sea was an utterly new trial product in the market segment.

The newly-opened Qingdao Marine Science Museum, located in the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, has many eye-catching high-tech exhibits. Models of such landmark devices as the manned submersible Jiaolong and the scientific investigation ship Xuelong arouse visitors’ curiosity and enthusiasm to explore the ocean mystery. (Ma Xiaoting)
